Carrying a heavy bucket of water on my head
I know my Zimbabwean culture well enough but because I did lose my parents at a young age I cannot say i have managed to learn everthing because almost half of my lifestyle has become European too. So that makes me open up to the new cultures around me.
Visiting a sauna for me is just as part of living as visiting the Gym. Which is maybe going for Braai in Africa. I live with the people who live with me with respect and when I visit my home country, I realize that they are all moving on and I am moving behind, at the same time moving forward where I live now. Its sometimes confusing and its better to immediately fit in.
What I have realized recently was that whenever I do shopping especially groceries, I tend to carry my own baby at my back and put the heavy groceries on my head. Its just so easy and less heavy. I manage this way to practice my culture in Europe. Ofcourse people look at me surprised, amused and some ask why I do this. That is mostly what I find fun.
