I have taught myself to respond to loud communication and ignore the silent kind. I don’t read silence — I was just thinking about it, and thought to let everyone know.
Half the time we stick to the idea that “silence speaks louder than words.” Yet words are powerful.
Never ignore someone with the hope that they will feel it. Some of us have experienced narcissists:
🔴 They ignore purposely as a form of attention-seeking
🔴 They are controlling
🔴 They play reverse psychology
🔴 They are mostly victim players
🔴 They will not compliment you, but love to be complimented
Such people are either very insecure, and will make use of weaker souls around them to feel stronger.
Then there is a group of people who were made to believe that it’s okay to be silent — even to your family or partner — to “fix” them, or to try to make a statement. It surely does not work, until you actually call and speak up.
Look close and around you: people who practice the silent treatment are not positive action-takers.
