I recently talked with an acquaintance who had only ever carried her babies on her front, with no experience of back carrying. She found front carrying nice, cosy, safer, and so on — but there’s more to carrying than that alone.
How do African women do it? You rarely see African women carrying a baby on the front. African women carry with a practical mindset, wanting more than just free hands — they work with the baby wrapped on the back. A workshop on back carrying is coming soon — stay tuned.
